Original project drawings with collage elements made for the O.U.R.S. Project.
Each artwork is signed and dated by the artist Arthur Woods.
These works dating from 1986 are a combination of drawing and collage including paper elements and painted Mylar. They were the first conceptional studies made for the Orbiting Unification Ring Satellite (O.U.R.S.) would be constructed in orbit using Mylar an ultralight and reflective material.
At the time, it was assumed that a large role of Mylar could be transported by the US Space Shuttle and then assembled by a team of astronauts to create the circular structure of the O.U.R.S.
After contact with space engineers the O.U.R.S. concept was later based on the use of an expandable membrane technology referred to as ISRS (Inflatable Space Rigidized Structures) or CRES (Chemically Rigidized Expandable Structures) developed by space engineer Dr. Marco C. Bernasconi.

The size of each work is 70 x 50 cm. The original chrome metal frame is included. Worldwide shipping – including crating and insurance – is included in the price. Import and customs fees are not included and must be paid by the purchaser.
